Dhaka North City Corporation mayor Annisul Huq is now at the intensive care unit (ICU) of a hospital in London.
The personal secretary of the mayor, Mizanur Rahman, has confirmed this to the media through a mobile message.
Annisul was admitted to the hospital four days ago after he had fallen sick.
According to the message, the mayor suffered a brain related disease. He is now in the ICU.
The mayor had been suffering from various health complications for the last two months.
Annisul requested the countrymen to pray for his early recovery.
The mayor has been staying in London for about a month.
